Pharmacy Operations Coordinator
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Operations Coordinator who will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy staff and Shields Health Solutions Liaisons. This position involves a proactive approach to ensuring the accurate and timely filling and delivery of specialty medications. You will collaborate closely with hospital pharmacy teams and Shields Liaisons, focusing on optimizing workflows while harnessing technology to enhance operational efficiency.
Job Duties:
- Assist hospital pharmacy staff in the seamless integration of Shields Health Solutions Specialty Pharmacy workflows and operations.
- Support Shields Health Solutions Pharmacy Liaisons in clinics to enhance specialty pharmacy workflows.
- Train pharmacy staff on the specialty pharmacy model and its impact on patient care.
- Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and/or clinicians as necessary.
- Identify medications that require special storage and handling, including hazardous and refrigerated medications.
- Determine necessary supplies for specific medications, such as sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, and Band-Aids.
