In response to our ongoing growth, we are on the lookout for an experienced Java Software Engineer to advance our SynQ warehouse management system. Our collaborative projects with clients focus on developing customized SynQ systems that enhance the efficiency of our sophisticated automated material handling solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in Java EE and an understanding of automated logistics systems. Alternatively, candidates with software programming skills in production line machinery, specialized equipment, or asset management monitoring systems will also be considered. Experience in real-time software development is highly advantageous.
We welcome dynamic Java Software Developers ranging from Junior to Senior levels to be based at our UK headquarters in Redditch.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to established design strategies and development methodologies as defined by the Software Engineering Manager and company quality standards.
2. Document all requirements, design, implementation, and testing phases to the specified standards.
3. Contribute to the definition of project designs and development processes as required.
4. Deliver a defined segment of projects, including design, implementation, testing, integration (both in-house and on-site), and documentation using Java EE and associated technologies.
5. Foster and maintain positive working relationships within the department, across the company, and with customers.
6. Occasionally participate in sales, implementation, and support activities at client locations.
7. Stay updated on emerging and relevant technologies.
8. Create unit test scripts and conduct testing of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
9. Test and support software systems developed offshore.
10. Take responsibility for work packages, ensuring costs are managed, tasks are appropriately scheduled, and all deliverables meet Swisslog’s quality standards.
Essential Qualifications:
Candidates should meet at least 4 of the following criteria:
- Object-Oriented Analysis and Design
- Strong knowledge in Java (SE, EE)
- Familiarity with enterprise frameworks: EJB 3.2
- Experience with Enterprise Java applications
