Are you ready to take on the role of a Platform Engineer (AWS) and contribute to the central cloud platform that powers the digital engine behind the Dutch ports? Are you interested in further developing an AWS landing zone, centralizing cloud networks, and implementing security standards organization-wide? If yes, read on!
At Portbase, we are building a central AWS landing zone where all teams run their workloads. You will assist in implementing, optimizing, and managing this environment, with a focus on networking, security, and standardization.
Your Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage our central AWS landing zone;
Establish and optimize a centralized network architecture (including VPCs, Transit Gateway);
Implement AWS Organizations and Service Control Policies (SCPs);
Automate infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code);
Configure AWS security services such as GuardDuty and Security Hub;
Migrate teams and workloads to the landing zone in collaboration with respective scrum teams.

Portbase serves as the digital engine behind the Dutch ports. Our Port Community System connects hundreds of stakeholders across the logistics chain (from shipping lines to terminals and from carriers to customs) to facilitate faster and safer handling of goods.
With over 90 million transactions annually across 40+ services, we play a crucial role in the international supply chain.
About the Cloud Infrastructure & Networking Team:
The Cloud Infrastructure & Networking team develops and manages Portbase's central AWS environment. Previously, teams managed their cloud infrastructure independently; now, we are moving toward a highly centralized and standardized platform.
We are building an organization-wide landing zone, migrating teams to it, and working on further professionalization of our cloud environment, with a focus on networking, security, and cloud governance.
