We aspire to instill moral responsibility and cultivate character within a respectful school environment.The responsibilities of the Lower School Associate Teacher include:Commitment to the RCDS Associate Teaching Program, a two-year initiative for graduate students aiming for a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from an accredited institution of their choice.Collaboration with the Head Teacher to prioritize the best interests of students.Assuming responsibility for instructional planning, implementation, and assessment under the guidance of the Lead Teacher, as well as assisting in lesson planning for various class activities.Working with small groups of students on activities, supervised by the Lead Teacher.Providing individual academic, social, and emotional support to students to aid their learning and adherence to directions.Facilitating class meetings under the Lead Teacher’s direction.Offering clerical support to the Lead Teacher, including reviewing student work and preparing instructional materials.Assisting in classroom preparations before the school year begins, participating in parent orientation evenings, and contributing to “Back to School Night.”Helping the Lead Teacher prepare written reports and conduct parent conferences.Maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and parents, contributing positively to the school community while treating student information as confidential.Attending all required meetings led by the Head of School, as well as division and grade level meetings.Utilizing allocated time and financial resources to attend educational workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities.
