Role Overview:
Natilus is looking for a dynamic Aircraft Subsystems Engineering Lead to join our San Diego team. This position involves taking charge of end-to-end systems development, including defining requirements, designing system architecture, and integrating technology across various subsystems such as flight control mechanisms, propulsion, avionics, electrical, and fuel systems. You will supervise trade studies, manage interface controls, ensure compliance, and develop schedules while offering technical guidance and mentorship to our engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage technical expertise to design aircraft systems from initial concept through to first flight.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Kona systems design team.
- Delegate tasks, prioritize projects, and mentor engineers to achieve timely and high-quality results.
- Maintain close communication and collaboration with the executive leadership team, including the CEO and Head of Engineering.
- Manage engineering deliverables, identify challenges, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
- Lead and contribute to the design and analysis of aircraft systems from concept to production, covering propulsion, fuel, electrical, avionics, and flight controls.
