Position OverviewWe are seeking a Mechanical Estimator for our Northern California division who will provide and coordinate vital estimating services for HVAC Pipe and Sheet Metal projects. This role requires a strong emphasis on accuracy, thoroughness, and profitability. You will be instrumental in building relationships with the Estimating Departments of our target General Contractors. If you possess estimating experience in industrial construction, manufacturing, power, refinery, pipe fabrication, water treatment, or similar projects, we encourage you to apply! Location Options: Livermore, CA; San Leandro, CA; or Sacramento, CA Key ResponsibilitiesEngage regularly with the Pre-Construction Departments of targeted General Contractors to uncover project opportunities.Assess potential projects to ensure alignment with our business model and identify those that leverage our competitive advantages while contributing to our profit margins.Review project plans, P&IDs, specifications, and contracts before preparing estimates to identify any potential impacts on the work.Utilize computer-based take-off and estimating systems to ensure reproducibility of results.Coordinate drawings, scopes, and points of contact with other trades.Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) for bidding projects.Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors.Compile recaps, general conditions, schedules, and correspondence related to projects.Generate job reports for bid review alongside the Estimating Manager.Assist in project sales efforts, which may include scope of supply development, presentations, negotiations, and closing deals.Participate in kickoff meetings to present the scope of work, work plan, budget, and any critical limitations related to our responsibilities.Support productivity tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
