Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerLocation: Sparks, MDJob Summary: We are looking for a talented and experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a robust background in handling government contracts. The successful applicant will possess significant experience in manufacturing processes, particularly with SolidWorks, and will ideally have knowledge of battery or fuel cell technologies. This role involves developing, implementing, and refining manufacturing processes to fulfill our clients' requirements while ensuring stringent adherence to government regulations and industry standards.Key Responsibilities:• Develop and enhance manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure product quality.• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including design, quality assurance, and production, to ensure smooth manufacturing process integration.• Use SolidWorks for the design, testing, and validation of manufacturing equipment, tools, and fixtures.• Lead the adoption of new technologies and manufacturing methods, focusing on battery and fuel cell production.• Ensure compliance with government regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all manufacturing operations.• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to tackle manufacturing challenges and enhance process reliability.• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.• Train and mentor production staff on best practices and innovative manufacturing techniques.• Work with suppliers and vendors to obtain materials and components that meet quality and cost criteria.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.• At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically focusing on batteries or fuel cells.• Proficient in SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.• Experience with battery or fuel cell technologies is highly preferred.• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.• Familiarity with government regulations and standards pertaining to manufacturing.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with automated manufacturing processes and robotics.• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.• Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:Oversee and implement the operational technology (OT) systems subset of the IT portfolio.Provide operational support for site-specific OT/IT initiatives.Act as the primary contact (plant OT developer) to gather requirements and provide support for OT/IT solutions.Communicate progress updates and escalate issues as necessary.Utilize appropriate OT/IT systems to track and manage the portfolio of work.Manage infrastructure and outsourcing needs for plant projects and systems support.Strategic Leadership:Lead, manage, and support site-specific OT/IT systems and processes.Troubleshoot systematic issues effectively by applying knowledge of systems and processes.Demonstrate leadership and management skills in supporting and utilizing systems and processes.Document and support disaster recovery plans for IT systems and processes.Conduct computer software validation for OT/IT systems.Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for process or system improvements.Business Needs Assessment:Maximize usage of existing Plant or BD enterprise solutions.Gather and document user requirements, design systems alternatives, and create specifications to meet objectives.Assess and recommend OT/IT infrastructure needs to achieve project goals.Ensure compliance with all development, change management, and software validation policies and procedures.Preferred experience in software design and development using BD-approved programming languages, including Visual Basic and Dot Net, along with database administration skills in Oracle and SQL Server.Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.

Key Responsibilities:As a Manufacturing IT Application Developer, you will be responsible for managing and executing the operational technology (OT) portfolio at our Sparks facility. You will provide operational support for site-specific OT/IT systems, serving as the primary point of contact for requirements gathering and support of OT/IT solutions. Your role includes communicating progress, resolving issues, and utilizing appropriate systems for tracking portfolio work.In this position, you will strategically lead, manage, and support site-specific OT/IT systems and processes. You will troubleshoot systematic issues, apply your knowledge of systems, and demonstrate effective leadership and management skills. Additionally, you will document and support disaster recovery for IT systems, write and execute necessary software validations, and identify opportunities for process improvements.Your responsibilities will also include assessing business needs and conducting process analysis to maximize the use of existing plant applications and BD enterprise solutions. You will gather and document user requirements, conduct systems design alternatives, and create system specifications to achieve project objectives.As part of your role, you will adhere to all development, change management, and software validation policies and procedures. Proficiency in BD’s approved programming languages, such as Visual Basic and Dot Net, along with database administration skills in Oracle and SQL Server, is preferred.
