Role OverviewThe Lead Electrical Engineer for Electrical and Instrumentation at Pixelle’s Spring Grove, Pennsylvania facility will play a pivotal role in advancing our engineering initiatives. This position entails overseeing and executing significant capital and repair projects, delivering technical support across the facility, and providing expert guidance in power systems within the Utilities Department.Key ResponsibilitiesChampion safety and environmental standards at the facility.Conduct front-end studies on capital projects with substantial business relevance.Develop and continually refine dynamic capital and major repair strategies tailored to the mill's evolving needs.Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure successful execution of projects, emphasizing safety, environmental stewardship, quality, and budget adherence.Oversee multiple concurrent projects, managing all phases from concept through to training and documentation.Provide deep expertise in power systems, including turbine generators, excitation systems, high-voltage distribution, relay protection, arc flash analysis, and automation systems.Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues within the mill.Supervise external contractors to ensure compliance with safety and technical standards.Support the development of contracts with vendors for major equipment and labor procurement.Collaborate with Finance on tax issues, capital vs. expense, and financial justifications.Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation and asset records.Mentor junior engineers and interns to foster professional development.Ensure adherence to codes and standards in all engineering and maintenance activities.Lead and participate in cross-functional teams for project success.
