Purpose: The Civil Project Superintendent plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful and timely completion of assigned projects while adhering to established plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling: Take ownership of project milestones and maintain clear communication regarding progress and challenges with the Project Manager. Drive the short-term schedule with a three-week look-ahead, ensuring all subcontractors are informed during weekly meetings. Identify and address critical path items to meet overall schedule deadlines.
- Production & Quality Control: Uphold high standards of quality control from project initiation to completion. Collaborate with estimators and preconstruction teams to understand project estimations and optimize production. Ensure all work is performed accurately and efficiently, coordinating labor, equipment, and subcontractors effectively.
- Planning & Cost Management: Partner with the Project Manager to evaluate job cost estimates and monitor manhours against expectations. Work proactively with warehouse staff to schedule necessary equipment.
- Safety: Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards, fostering a safe work environment while holding the team accountable for high safety standards.
- Leadership: Exhibit professionalism in appearance and behavior while promoting teamwork and a positive work atmosphere among construction crews.
