Box Japan, established in May 2014 as the Japanese branch of Box Inc., is continuously growing. We are in a phase of expanding our presence in the Japanese market and are looking for a new position titled 'Demo Engineer' to enhance our sales and pre-sales activities from a technical standpoint. The primary mission of this role is to collaborate with the sales and SE teams, along with the Demo Engineer team in the U.S., to conceptualize and develop 'demo assets' that visualize the value of Box's solutions. Responsibilities include building demo environments to maximize sales effectiveness, producing videos, and developing demo data generation tools. This is an ideal opportunity for engineers who wish to leverage their development experience and programming skills while transitioning into a role that contributes to business impact and communicates product value effectively. Your Responsibilities In this role, you will design, develop, and manage digital assets that effectively showcase Box's solutions. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders (SE, sales, U.S. development teams) is essential. Planning and developing demo environments and assets: Build, maintain, and create video content based on demo scenarios for use by sales and SE teams. Developing automation and efficiency tools: Create scripts and simple applications to automate demo data generation, environment resets, and API integrations. Technical collaboration with global teams: Work daily with the U.S. Demo Engineer team for early implementation of new features in demo environments and localization of global demo assets for the Japanese market. Providing technical support to the SE team: Assist in building custom demos to meet complex customer requirements and provide backend technical support. Knowledge management: Create specifications for demo assets and tools, and promote internal adoption. Who You Are Prior pre-sales experience is not a prerequisite; we seek individuals with a development background who are eager to use technology to solve business challenges. We welcome junior candidates and those looking to transition from development roles. Technical background: Experience in web application development or programming with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Node.js) through work or personal projects. Knowledge of cloud and APIs: Basic knowledge or eagerness to learn about development using REST APIs and cloud services like AWS/GCP/Azure and SaaS integrations. Collaboration skills: Strong communication abilities to work smoothly with both internal sales/SE teams and overseas engineers. English proficiency: Able to participate in regular meetings and technical discussions with the U.S. team, with good understanding of English technical documents. Mindset: A strong interest in contributing to business impact and a creative approach to conveying product appeal beyond pure development tasks.
