Join us in transforming lives!The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every individual feels valued.As a Young Adult Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in delivering essential services to participants of our School Leavers Service who have physical disabilities. Your mission will be to help these young adults fully engage with their communities by implementing developmental, personal, and social inclusion programs.In this role, you will support young individuals in identifying and working towards their personal goals while facilitating a variety of activities such as training workshops, personal development sessions, day trips, and social events. Additionally, you will connect participants with vital services and resources within their local communities.LiaisonClose collaboration with School Leaver Service Support Officers, the Rehabilitative Training team, and Community Centre Coordinators is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Service Manager and Support Officers in implementing various group workshops and activities tailored to the preferences and needs of young adults.Provide individualized support to young adults in alignment with the IWA's person-centered approach and Personal Goals framework.Support young adults involved in Rehabilitative Training initiatives.Facilitate safe transportation in accordance with Transport Handbook guidelines.Assist participants in personal care and daily living tasks as needed.Accompany young adults on outings, social trips, and vacations as required.Ensure that all interactions promote and enhance the independence of the young people.Maintain accurate hard copy and online records as directed by the Service Manager and Support Officers.Participate in training as requested by the Service Manager and Support Officers.Actively uphold health and safety standards across all activities and within the center, promptly reporting any hazards or accidents to management.
