Facilities Engineer Role Overview

The Facilities Engineer will support the safe and efficient operation of Halo Industries’ Santa Clara facility. This role focuses on designing, maintaining, and upgrading infrastructure systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. The position involves hands-on work, oversight of facility layouts, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations. Strong technical skills, project management experience, and a proactive approach are essential.

Main Responsibilities

  • Building Systems Maintenance: Supervise installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, such as HVAC, lighting, and fire protection.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Create and run a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Project Management: Lead facility projects, including renovations, equipment upgrades, and office changes. Manage budgets, schedules, and contractor performance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure the facility meets all local, state, and federal requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and building codes. Conduct safety inspections and drills.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: Request bids, negotiate contracts, and oversee work by vendors and contractors to maintain quality and control costs.
  • Energy Management: Find and implement ways to save energy, lower operating costs, and support sustainability goals.
  • Emergency Response: Serve as a primary contact for facility emergencies and maintain emergency response plans.
  • Space Planning: Support space planning and office moves to meet changing organizational needs.
