The Role
The Federal Proposal Manager will spearhead the proposal development team throughout the AFS Proposal Lifecycle, ensuring the creation and submission of compliant and persuasive proposals. This role entails:
- Overseeing all facets of the proposal process, while providing strategic and tactical insights to the proposal development team.
- Leading the Proposal Management Team (PMT) to strategize, communicate, and execute necessary actions, including reviewing milestones and securing approvals ahead of proposal submission.
- Utilizing the Proposal Development Center’s methodologies, tools, and templates to enhance all proposal development initiatives.
- Fostering effective communication with AFS Contract Management, Legal, and Pricing teams to ensure seamless collaboration throughout the proposal development process.
- Collaborating with functional area contributors to orchestrate the proposal timeline, review milestones, and deliverables for all proposal documents, while guiding volume leads and writers, overseeing responses, consulting with the PMT, leading color teams, and maintaining the schedule.
- Co-developing the proposal management plan, including schedule, annotated outline, kick-off presentation, daily team meetings, proposal contact lists, and training strategy with the proposal coordinator.
- Reviewing and implementing the AFS proposal process, particularly the Proposal Management Playbook.
- Actively listening to feedback from PDC team members and adapting processes as needed.
