REQUIREMENTSA 4-year degree in a business-related field is a plus but not mandatory. High School Diploma or GED completion is required.1-2 years of supervisory experience, particularly in building teams of 20+ members. Strong ability to connect with field-level customers and contacts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of building and maintaining strong working relationships with team members. Contributes to the ongoing engagement and development of AWP Safety employees. Intermediate proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems. Commitment to promoting and adhering to safe workplace practices. A valid driver's license and ability to meet AWP Safety driver standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Field Supervisor at AWP Safety, you will embody our core values of Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork. This position is ideal for those passionate about safety and effective team leadership. You will play a crucial role in supporting our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, ensuring that employees, customers, and assets are protected, and that all team members return home safely every day. Your efforts will directly contribute to our success through hard work, integrity, and the development of both yourself and others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct leadership and supervision for a team of 30+ protectors (field-based crews).
  • Assist the Area Manager and General Manager in executing company initiatives.
  • Engage daily with all Area Staff to drive Continuous Improvement across all business functions.
  • Balance responsibilities between Field (80%) and Office (20%).
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention standards.
  • Safeguard the company’s team members, customers, and assets from losses, injuries, and accidents by enforcing safe work practices.
  • Coach, motivate, and develop the assigned team of protectors.
  • Build relationships with new and existing customers to achieve business goals and explore new opportunities.
  • Conduct job site and vehicle inspections, attend pre-bid meetings, meet with clients, and work in the field with the team as needed.
  • Address customer service issues promptly and efficiently to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily work schedules.
  • Monitor daily employee matters, including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, time off requests, customer issues, and training needs.
  • Facilitate team-building activities and maintain regular communication with team members.
  • Support the training of new and current employees to minimize turnover and promote efficiency.
  • Obtain ATSSA and state-specific certifications.
  • Become a subject matter expert in work zone setup/design and professional flagging.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
