Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred. Familiarity with IFRS and Spanish accounting standards is essential. In-depth understanding of Spanish tax regulations and compliance requirements. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage and inspire a team. Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal skills; willingness to learn Spanish if not already fluent. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities. Strong business acumen complemented by strategic thinking capabilities. Experience in enhancing financial processes and controls is preferred. High proficiency in Excel and financial management software. Must be located in or willing to relocate to Barcelona. Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong compliance focus.

About the job

As the Financial & Accounting Manager at Ubisoft's Barcelona studio, you will lead and oversee the dynamic finance and accounting operations on a daily basis. This pivotal role ensures precise financial reporting, effective budget oversight, and adherence to local regulations alongside group-level financial standards.

Collaborating closely with key internal stakeholders, including Production and HR, you will provide crucial financial insights that support strategic decision-making and report directly to the Studio Manager.

Being part of the Vantage Finance teams means engaging with global financial processes across the Creative House, fostering frequent interactions with finance professionals beyond the Barcelona studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage general accounting functions, encompassing accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and monthly financial closings.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and monitor budgets and forecasts, performing variance analysis as required.
  • Generate and present monthly financial reports to local management and headquarters.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and group policies.
  • Oversee and control project-related budgets to guarantee accurate financial tracking and execution.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, serving as the primary financial contact.
  • Champion the continuous improvement of financial processes, tools, and internal controls.
  • Lead and manage the finance and accounting team effectively.
  • Advise on compliance with Spanish financial and legal requirements related to R&D subsidies and grants.
  • Oversee documentation and reporting obligations for public funding programs.
  • Depending on your experience, you may also provide cross-functional support for Vantage Finance reporting.
  • Utilize data-driven methodologies to develop business intelligence reports and collaborate with stakeholders to provide actionable financial insights.
