The Financial Controller for our Corporate Shared Services team is a pivotal leadership position that demands a hands-on approach. You will be accountable for comprehensive controllership functions, encompassing the monthly close process, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and adherence to statutory and tax compliance for our supported group companies. As the finance lead for the profit and loss statements and balance sheets of assigned group companies, you will collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, Product, and Corporate FP&A teams to ensure precision, timeliness, and insightful analysis of financial results, while also developing scalable processes to foster growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting
- Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for the supported group companies, ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate financial statements compliant with US GAAP.
- Prepare comprehensive reporting packages, variance analyses, and management commentary for the CFO and executive leadership team.
- Consolidate financial results into corporate reporting frameworks while ensuring alignment with corporate accounting policies.
Accounting & Controls
- Establish and maintain a robust control environment, including account reconciliations, journal entries, revenue recognition, accruals, reserves, and documentation of key controls.
- Lead technical accounting assessments (e.g., ASC 606 for revenue arrangements, software capitalization, lease evaluations under ASC 842, and impairment reviews) in partnership with Corporate Accounting.
- Manage and coordinate both internal and external audits, address findings, and implement corrective action plans.
Revenue, Costing & Working Capital
- Oversee revenue recognition processes and ensure billing accuracy; collaborate with Sales Operations and Legal teams on contract terms to ensure compliance.
- Analyze COGS, gross margin factors, and inventory valuations; implement standard costing and variance analysis as applicable.
- Enhance working capital efficiencies through effective A/R collections, credit risk management, DSO/aging oversight, A/P terms optimization, and cash forecasting.
Operational Excellence & Systems
- Streamline financial processes and automate closing activities to reduce cycle times and minimize manual efforts.
- Act as the accounting lead for the NetSuite ERP and its sub-ledgers (e.g., order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, project accounting).
- Develop and uphold accounting policies, manuals, and desktop procedures.
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with FP&A teams on financial forecasts, budgets, and strategic planning initiatives.
