As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer at surglobal, you will play a vital role as a technical expert bridging engineering and customer success. Your primary responsibility will be to convert intricate technical requirements into efficient solutions that yield tangible results for our eCommerce clients. You will collaborate closely with merchant teams to seamlessly integrate, optimize, and troubleshoot functionalities across various web platforms.
This hands-on position encompasses managing the entire technical lifecycle, from onboarding to optimization. You will concentrate on debugging JavaScript, crafting and refining transformation scripts, configuring caching rules, and diagnosing complex behaviors related to CDNs across Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), and other custom storefront environments. Your objective is to guarantee efficient site performance and stability, while continuously enhancing client deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and troubleshoot edge-running code to enhance caching, localization, and device performance.
- Proactively monitor client implementations to swiftly identify and rectify technical anomalies.
- Utilize browser DevTools, diagnostic tools, and internal APIs to analyze and mitigate latency or personalization challenges in real-time production settings.
- Act as the main technical contact for assigned merchant accounts, ensuring effective communication and resolving engineering issues efficiently.
- Generate documentation, tools, and processes to streamline onboarding and technical support.
- Provide valuable insights to the product team based on field experiences to inform feature enhancements and roadmap planning.
