Role Overview: Founding Analytics Engineer
This is a founding role based in New York. The Founding Analytics Engineer will lead Ambrook's data function, shaping how our company collects, organizes, and uses information. The work will turn our data warehouse into a trusted, structured resource that supports every team and enables confident decision-making. The engineer will manage the entire data pipeline, from ingestion to insights, and help build a culture where everyone can use data effectively.
What You Will Do
- Own: Manage everything downstream of production databases: data warehouse, dbt models, Airbyte pipelines, orchestration, dashboards, and data access for AI agents. Advise on data modeling in external systems like HubSpot to keep upstream data clean.
- Teach: Help team members build data literacy. Guide others in interpreting metrics, writing queries, and using Hex for self-service analytics. Promote best practices for structuring data in team-owned tools and keep metrics definitions consistent.
- Improve: Strengthen our data model by solving problems, improving documentation, and building trust in the reliability of our information so teams can work independently.
