About the job
About Us
Join a pioneering robotics startup that is transforming the manufacturing landscape through innovative robotic automation. Our client is dedicated to developing cutting-edge systems that redefine physical intelligence, enhance robotic dexterity, scale data collection, and optimize manufacturing economics. Our rigorous hardware research and development takes place in our state-of-the-art factories in Vietnam, enabling rapid design, iteration, and deployment cycles. The hardware we create thrives on active factory floors, meeting the real-world demands of durability, serviceability, and operational uptime. Our systems are designed to endure repeated human interaction, challenging industrial environments, and ongoing iterations.
Position Overview
- Location: Initially based in Vietnam for the first 12–24 months of R&D and deployment; long-term location (U. S., Europe, or Asia) will be determined collaboratively by the engineering team.
- Development Stage: Early hardware development, progressing from initial prototypes to first repeatable systems.
- Reports To: Co-founder / CTO.
- Core Responsibility: Oversee the system architecture and physical integrity of dexterous robotic hardware, evolving from handheld data collection devices to sophisticated bimanual robotic arms through hands-on design, building, and iteration within real manufacturing settings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Founding Robotics Hardware Engineer.
The Role
You will take ownership of the technical coherence and physical architecture of an evolving hardware system, which includes:
- Handheld data collection gripper
- Actuated variant of the gripper
- Bimanual robotic manipulation system with 6-DoF motion
These systems represent successive iterations of the same interaction, sensing, and mechanical design. Your early decisions will facilitate seamless progression, allowing insights to build across embodiments.
This role is hands-on and builder-oriented, grounded in tangible reality. As the architect of system-level coherence, you will collaborate closely with the Founding Robotics Hardware Engineer to design, construct, test, break, and refine robust, evolvable hardware that is optimized for real manufacturing applications.
Be part of a team that is reshaping the future of manufacturing through innovative hardware design, with a focus on ownership and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
