toloka-ai, in partnership with Mindrift, connects material science experts to project-based AI work for major technology companies. These freelance roles involve testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems. All work is project-based and does not constitute permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design original materials engineering problems that mirror real-world engineering workflows
- Create challenges that require Python programming for calculations or simulations
- Develop computationally intensive tasks using numerical methods or iterative approaches
- Formulate problems centered on system design, optimization, and analysis
- Incorporate real research questions or practical engineering scenarios into problem sets
- Validate solutions with Python and recognized engineering libraries
- Document problem statements clearly and provide verified solutions
Requirements
- Degree in Material Science or a closely related field
- Strong Python skills for numerical validation (experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar libraries is a plus)
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience, ideally in applied research or teaching
- Solid grasp of engineering constraints and practical approximations
- Excellent written English (C1 level or above)
