What This Role Involves:

Contributors will engage in various unique tasks across different projects, including:

  • Creating original computational statistics problems that reflect real-world mathematical research processes;
  • Developing Python-based solutions for complex problems utilizing libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy;
  • Designing challenges that are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within a reasonable timeframe;
  • Formulating questions that involve sophisticated reasoning in fields like number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis;
  • Drawing upon genuine research dilemmas or practical applications relevant to mathematical practices;
  • Validating solutions using Python and standard mathematical libraries;
  • Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified, correct solutions.

Qualifications We Seek:

This position is ideal for professionals in statistics with Python expertise who are interested in part-time, non-permanent projects. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Statistics or a related field;
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical verification; experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other domain-specific libraries is also acceptable;
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied statistics, research, or teaching;
  • Strong written English skills (C1+ level);
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS, CAP) and experience in international or applied projects are advantageous.
