Opportunity Overview
As a contributor, you will engage in various unique projects that may involve:
- Designing original computational engineering problems that accurately simulate real-world engineering workflows;
- Creating Python-based problems for solving engineering calculations and simulations;
- Ensuring problems are computationally intensive, necessitating numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Developing problems related to system design, optimization, and analysis;
- Utilizing real research challenges or practical applications from engineering practice as the basis for problems;
- Verifying solutions using Python with standard engineering libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified answers.
Qualifications We Seek
This role is ideal for engineers with Python expertise who are interested in part-time, non-permanent project work. We ideally seek candidates with:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation, with experience in MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or equivalent programming languages;
- At least 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching roles;
- A solid understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations;
- Strong written English skills (C1 or higher);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international or applied projects are advantageous.

Project Time Commitment
During active phases of the project, contributors can expect to commit approximately 10–20 hours per week based on project requirements. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload.
Compensation Details
Contributors to this project have the potential to earn up to $39 per hour, contingent on their contribution level and pace. Please be aware that compensation may differ across different projects based on their scope, complexity, and required expertise.
