Language Empire is urgently looking for freelance interpreters to engage with various organizations, including the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other public and private sectors.
Founded in 2001, Language Empire has been delivering top-tier interpreting and translation services across the UK for over two decades. We specialize in a vast array of languages and dialects, offering a pivotal role in fields such as politics, business, healthcare, and public service.
We are currently seeking professionals for the following roles:
- Face-to-Face Interpreters
- Telephone Interpreters
- Video Interpreters
- Translators
Please be aware that this is a self-employed position.
Your Responsibilities:
As an interpreter, you will actively listen, comprehend, and accurately convey messages from the source language to the target language. Your duties will include:
- Providing interpretation services for clients accessing legal, health, and local government services.
- Confirming the understanding of non-English speakers after each sentence.
- Engaging in conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting.
- Managing highly confidential information with discretion.
- Acting as a liaison between service users and providers.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English and at least one other language.
- All applicants must possess the right to work in the UK.
- Applicants must be aged 21 or over.
- Preferred formal qualifications include:
- Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI).
- Community Interpreting qualifications.
- NRPSI, CIOL, or ITI registration is a plus.
- A degree in Translation, Interpreting, or Languages.
- Any related interpreting qualifications.
