About the Opportunity
Each project presents unique challenges, and contributors may be tasked to:
- Innovate and design computational engineering problems that accurately reflect real engineering workflows;
- Develop problems that require Python programming to address engineering calculations and simulations;
- Create computationally demanding problems that utilize numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Formulate challenges related to system design, optimization, and analysis;
- Base problems on genuine research challenges or practical applications from the engineering field;
- Validate solutions using Python alongside standard engineering libraries;
- Clearly document problem statements and ensure verified correct answers are provided.
Desired Qualifications
This role is ideal for engineers with experience in Python who are open to part-time, non-permanent projects. Ideal candidates will possess:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation, with familiarity in MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or equivalent programming languages;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied engineering, research, or teaching;
- A solid understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations;
- Excellent written English skills (C1+);
- Professional certifications (such as CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and exposure to international or applied projects are advantageous.

Project Time Expectations
For this project, contributors should expect to dedicate approximately 10-20 hours per week during active phases, subject to project requirements. This is an estimate and does not guarantee a specific workload outside of active project phases.
Compensation Details
Contributors can earn up to $14 per hour, contingent upon their expertise and contribution pace. Compensation varies by project based on scope, complexity, and required skills. Note that other projects may offer different compensation levels based on their specific needs.
