Role Overview:
This role encompasses a variety of unique tasks per project, including:
- Crafting original computational engineering challenges that mirror actual engineering workflows;
- Formulating problems that necessitate Python programming for engineering calculations and simulations;
- Ensuring problems are computationally demanding and involve numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Designing problems related to system design, optimization, and analysis;
- Creating scenarios inspired by genuine research challenges or practical applications from the engineering field;
- Verifying solutions using Python and standard engineering libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing accurate verified solutions.
Ideal Candidate:
This opportunity is suited for engineers with Python expertise who are open to part-time, non-permanent projects. Candidates should have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or knowledge of any programming language is acceptable;
- At least 2 years of professional experience, encompassing applied, research, or teaching roles;
- A strong understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations;
- Excellent written English proficiency (C1+);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience in international or applied projects are advantageous.

Project Commitment:
During active project phases, tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week, contingent on project needs. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload.
Compensation:
Contributors can earn up to $69 per hour, varying based on their experience and contribution pace. Compensation levels may differ across projects based on complexity and required expertise.
