At Mindrift, we specialize in connecting skilled professionals with project-based AI opportunities at leading tech companies, with a focus on testing, assessing, and enhancing AI systems. This is a project-based role, not a permanent position.

Opportunity Overview

Each project comes with its own set of unique tasks. Contributors may be responsible for:

  • Creating original optics problems that accurately reflect real-world physics research workflows;
  • Ensuring that these problems are computationally intensive and cannot be resolved manually within a practical timeframe (days/weeks);
  • Designing problems that require complex reasoning across mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics;
  • Rooting problems in actual research challenges or practical applications from the fields of optics and physics;
  • Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified correct solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is well-suited for optical engineers who are open to part-time, non-permanent project work. We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a related field;
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in applied research or education;
  • Familiarity with numerical simulation techniques;
  • The capability to design problems that mirror genuine physics research workflows;
  • Creative problem-solving skills across various physics disciplines;
  • Knowledge of physics modeling and approximation methodologies;
  • Strong written English skills (C1 level or higher).
