Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop sophisticated multi-file coding assignments across various tasks such as bug fixing, feature development, refactoring, and testing.
Compose clear, natural-language specifications and reference implementations for technical tasks.
Create and enhance unit and integration test suites to ensure robust software quality.
Critically review peer-generated tasks for accuracy, clarity, and realism.
Identify edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure points in code.
Ensure that specifications, code, and expected outcomes are in alignment.
Qualifications:
Exceptional written proficiency in English.
3 to 7 years of experience in software engineering.
Strong command of Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with familiarity in Java, C#, or Go.
Experience in backend or full-stack development within production environments.
Proficient in testing frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing.
Demonstrated ability to debug and work with large, complex codebases.
Experience with code reviews, refactoring, and production migrations.
This is a part-time, project-based consultant role where you can manage your own schedule, use your preferred tools, and potentially work with other employers simultaneously (subject to their policies).
