Role Overview

As an Interpreter and Translator, you will be responsible for consecutive interpretation, ensuring accurate and complete communication without omissions or additions. Translators will work across various sectors, translating documents in legal, scientific, and literary contexts while preserving the original meaning.

Interpretation Responsibilities

Interpreters are only permitted to interpret into their native language.
Comfortably interpret in diverse settings such as Mental Health, GP Practices, Hospitals, Dental Practices, Police, Courts, Local Authorities, Schools, and more.
Provide real-time verbal interpretations, maintaining the context, meaning, tone, and technical terminology.
Consult reference materials to stay updated with terminology and acquire necessary specialist knowledge for clarity in translation.
Attend scheduled assignments and utilize personal transportation for commuting.
Uphold high professional standards, ensure confidentiality, and adhere to the NRPSI, IOL, ATC, and ITI Interpreter Code of Conduct.

Managing translation tasks and adapting to shifting project needs are key parts of this position. Main responsibilities Deliver translations that meet TransPerfect’s quality standards and client expectations. Complete all required training for Associate Linguists, including certifications related to your area of expertise, technology platforms, and internal production and quality assurance procedures. Use company tools such as Confluence and Launchpad to carry out translation assignments. Follow detailed project instructions, reference materials, and language resources like translation memories and glossaries. Apply both internal and client-specific procedures throughout each stage of the translation process. Collaborate with a Team Lead or senior colleague for guidance and oversight. Meet quality and efficiency goals set by your supervisor. Perform other translation-related duties as assigned by your manager.
