Role Overview

The Interpreter & Translator will engage in consecutive interpretation, maintaining proximity to the speaker and ensuring accurate and complete language conversion without omissions or alterations.

Translators will work across diverse industries, handling a wide range of documents, including legal, scientific, and literary texts, with a commitment to conveying the original meaning as precisely as possible. A strong command of at least two languages is typically required.

Interpretation Responsibilities

Interpreters may only operate in their native language.
Comfortably interpret in various settings including Mental Health, GP Practices, Hospitals, Police, Courts, Local Authorities, Schools, and Solicitors.
Provide real-time verbal interpretation while maintaining context, meaning, tone, and technical terminology.
Consult reference materials to stay updated with terminology and acquire specialized knowledge when necessary to ensure clarity, particularly in cases of conflicting meanings.
Attend assigned engagements and manage own transportation to and from assignments.
Uphold high standards of professional behavior, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to the Interpreter Code of Conduct established by NRPSI, IOL, ATC, and ITI.
Participate in community engagement projects and gather feedback as required.

Role overview TransPerfect is looking for a Hebrew to English Translator to join its in-house team in Manchester. The role centers on producing precise translations for a variety of documents, with an emphasis on meeting both project priorities and subject matter requirements. Managing translation tasks and adapting to shifting project needs are key parts of this position. Main responsibilities Deliver translations that meet TransPerfect’s quality standards and client expectations. Complete all required training for Associate Linguists, including certifications related to your area of expertise, technology platforms, and internal production and quality assurance procedures. Use company tools such as Confluence and Launchpad to carry out translation assignments. Follow detailed project instructions, reference materials, and language resources like translation memories and glossaries. Apply both internal and client-specific procedures throughout each stage of the translation process. Collaborate with a Team Lead or senior colleague for guidance and oversight. Meet quality and efficiency goals set by your supervisor. Perform other translation-related duties as assigned by your manager.
