Required Qualifications:- A minimum of 1 year of experience in security, customer service, or a related role.- Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving abilities.- Must successfully complete the company’s Security Officer Academy.- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.- Ability to operate vehicles, radios, and security equipment effectively. Preferred Qualifications:- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.- Experience in resort, casino, or hospitality security environments. Physical Requirements:- Lifting/Carrying: Regularly lift up to 30 lbs; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.- Push/Pull: Capable of pushing or pulling carts or equipment weighing up to 200 lbs, with a force requirement of approximately 25-40 lbs depending on surface and incline.- Dragging: Ability to drag or assist in the movement of individuals as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Security Officer at Boyd Gaming Corporation, you will be tasked with ensuring the safety and security of our guests and employees across our Las Vegas property. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Patrolling and monitoring all areas of the property, utilizing foot, bicycle, or company vehicles for exterior inspections.
  • Overseeing alarm systems, surveillance cameras, access control systems, and other security technologies to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Providing outstanding guest service by professionally addressing inquiries, complaints, and conflicts.
  • Responding to physical threats, altercations, and aggressive behaviors with appropriate measures, including self-defense tactics when necessary.
  • Employing de-escalation techniques to minimize the use of force in conflict situations.
  • Acting as a first responder during emergencies, whether medical, fire-related, criminal, or due to natural disasters.
  • Handling gaming drops and transactions, which include transporting drop boxes and chip carriers with weights ranging from 3 to 50 lbs.
  • Documenting incidents thoroughly and accurately, including accidents, property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences.
  • Serving as a dispatcher to relay critical information via phone or radio.
  • Administering first aid/CPR/AED as needed and adhering to medical emergency protocols.
  • Securing incident scenes, conducting evacuations, and calling for emergency responders when required.
  • Participating in all mandatory training sessions, including legal, defensive tactics, and CPR/AED drills.
  • Maintaining proficiency with all assigned equipment and communication devices.
  • Observing and reporting suspicious activity while taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Performing additional job-related tasks as assigned.
