Join Voyago as the General Manager overseeing our Transit Division in the Greater Toronto Area, Central Ontario, and Durham Region. This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time position that we are looking to fill immediately.
Your Role:
As the General Manager of Transit, you will report directly to the Vice President of Transit. Your primary responsibility will be to provide strategic leadership and ensure the overall performance, growth, and operational excellence of the Transit division in the Greater Toronto Area. You will oversee daily operations, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality transit services that align with our contractual obligations and organizational objectives.
This role requires you to foster strong relationships with municipal partners, employees, and community stakeholders, all while championing a culture centered on safety, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. You will also play a key role in supporting business development and the long-term sustainability of our transit services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Performance
- Transform organizational vision and strategic priorities into actionable operational plans with measurable objectives.
- Lead initiatives that promote growth, service excellence, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability.
- Identify opportunities for service enhancements, cost savings, and innovative practices within transit operations.
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, and revenue opportunities to ensure profitability and responsible management.
- Adopt a proactive approach to identify risks and opportunities, initiating improvements to enhance operations.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily transit operations including dispatch, routing, scheduling, and fleet utilization to ensure effective service delivery.
- Guarantee that all contractual obligations, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and regulatory standards are consistently met.
- Lead operational planning efforts, including service adjustments, policy revisions, and contract implementations.
- Monitor vehicle utilization and operational performance to reduce inefficiencies and enhance service reliability.
- Collaborate closely with the Health & Safety team to investigate incidents, improve safety protocols, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Review operational performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous service improvement.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to managers, supervisors, and operational staff to foster a high-performance team.
- Encourage a collaborative and supportive work environment that prioritizes employee development and engagement.
