Elmhurst University invites enthusiastic individuals to apply for a graduate assistantship for the academic years 2026-2027 and potentially for 2027-2028. This role requires candidates to submit an application for admission into a degree-granting graduate program at elmhurst.edu/graduatestudies and gain acceptance to be eligible for consideration.
Graduate assistants may receive a full tuition waiver in exchange for 20 hours of service per week, along with a stipend that is disbursed bi-weekly to support their educational journey. This assistantship is primarily active during the Fall and Spring semesters, with possible involvement in January and/or Summer terms.
Eligible Graduate Programs: M. A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, M. Ed. in Teacher Leadership, M. S. Ed. in Special Education, or Master of Business Administration.
Weekly Hours: 20
Tuition Waiver: Full
Stipend: $5,000 total for the academic year, distributed as $2,500 between September and December, and $2,500 between February and May.
Assistantship Summary:
The Graduate Assistant for Student Accessibility Services will play a crucial role in supporting students registered with the SAS Office, ensuring effective communication among students, faculty, and staff regarding classroom and testing accommodations. This position is overseen by the Director of Student Accessibility Services, collaborating closely with the Learning Center team on various projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintain student privacy in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare accommodation notification notices.
- Facilitate communication regarding accommodations with students, faculty, and staff.
- Input and track data accurately.
- Schedule student exams and manage the SAS calendar throughout the semester.
- Proctor exams as required.
- Organize and manage SAS OneDrive and spreadsheets efficiently.
- Act as an academic coach, assisting students with organizational skills, time management, study techniques, goal-setting, and other strategies that promote academic success.
- Refer students to various on-campus resources including Academic Tutors and the Wellness Center.
