About the job

The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Bureau of Immunization (BOI) is dedicated to preventing disease transmission through effective immunization strategies. Our Healthy Homes (HHP) Program is committed to safeguarding children from lead exposure. The Healthy Homes Project Liaison Analyst will play a pivotal role within BOI, directly reporting to the Director of Data Strategy and Analytics. This position is crucial in enhancing collaboration between BOI and HHP, utilizing the Citywide Immunization Registry (CIR) and the Master Child Index (MCI) to ensure that all children in NYC are immunized and tested for lead exposure at least twice by their third birthday. The role encompasses executing innovative initiatives under the Lead Free NYC initiative, including program activities, registry enhancements, data analysis, and the generation of comprehensive reports to monitor project outcomes.

As a key contributor to the Mayor's Lead Free NYC initiative, the Project Liaison Analyst will be responsible for tracking progress and reporting to the Mayor's Office of Operations. Collaborating with the CIR-HHP Coordinator is essential to achieve these objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement protocols to encourage the use of CIR and MCI immunization and lead data by DOHMH personnel and pediatric healthcare providers across NYC.
  • Conduct analyses to identify determinants of low immunization and lead screening rates at various levels.
  • Engage in data quality enhancement projects to streamline the integration of CIR and HHP records, aiding in the identification of children lacking necessary immunizations or lead testing.
  • Generate actionable quantitative and qualitative metrics to evaluate progress in immunization and lead testing for children under three years old.
  • Coordinate outreach, training, and programmatic interventions in collaboration with the Healthy Homes Program and other stakeholders.
  • Work alongside computer consultants and BOI staff to design, test, and implement enhancements to the CIR and MCI.
  • Participate in initiatives to enhance CIR data quality, including demographic updates and record management.
  • Facilitate ongoing and targeted de-duplication efforts for specific CIR cohorts or provider lists.
