Join an esteemed heavy civil construction firm in the Carolinas as a Heavy Civil Project Manager. This is a remarkable opportunity for a driven professional to lead mid-sized NCDOT/SCDOT infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience from either large heavy civil contractors or small to mid-sized subcontractors, with a robust background in managing heavy highway construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement heavy civil construction projects in accordance with engineering standards and project specifications.
  • Oversee budgets to ensure margin goals are achieved, including preparing detailed cost and revenue forecasts while managing variances effectively.
  • Develop and update realistic project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Guarantee all work adheres to quality control standards and complies with engineering principles, client specifications, and company procedures.
  • Promote a culture of safety on-site by enforcing company safety protocols.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and generate reports for senior management.
  • Collaborate with field teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Authorize changes to equipment, staffing, and resources in conjunction with superintendents.
  • Alert senior management of critical issues and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Organize project staffing and allocate roles to team members for optimal performance.
  • Facilitate weekly project meetings to evaluate scheduling and financial performance.
  • Submit timely payment requests and provide updates on financial performance.
  • Supervise subcontractor and supplier contracts to ensure adherence to quality and performance standards.
  • Understand and manage contract terms, deliverables, schedules, and the impact of potential delays.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
