Independence Excavating is seeking a driven and experienced Heavy Highway Project Manager to be an integral part of our expanding workforce. In this role, you will oversee all facets of your assigned projects, including budget management, scheduling, submittals, requests for information (RFIs), contract negotiations, and purchase order management. You will also engage professionally with clients and stakeholders, ensuring a seamless project experience. This position reports directly to the Senior Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and return submittals for manufactured items or services.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent/Operations Manager to assess equipment and crew requirements.
  • Assemble and regularly update job cost codes for projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and manage material deliveries for major components.
  • Review and approve subcontractor/supplier estimates and invoices.
  • Negotiate and manage Extra Work Orders and Change Orders (COR) for project scope changes.
  • Monitor production, resource utilization, and job costs to maintain project profitability.
  • Prepare monthly job cost and profit projections.
