Role Overview

TechFlow, through its EMI Services subsidiary, is hiring an HVAC Chiller Technician II for Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Patuxent River, Maryland. This position focuses on advanced maintenance, repair, and modernization of HVAC systems, including multi-ton chillers, to maintain optimal building climate conditions. The role involves collaboration with a skilled team serving Southern Maryland communities such as California, Ridge, Hollywood, Mechanicsville, Leonardtown, Waldorf, Laplata, Lusby, and Solomons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair air-cooled chillers, pumps, water systems, and VRF systems
  • Test input and output voltages for automated building controls
  • Service a range of HVAC units, including split package, residential, light commercial, mini-splits, VAVs, and AHUs
  • Use multi-meters for voltage checks and torches for brazing tasks
  • Prepare work orders and material cost estimates
  • Mentor and train Technician I team members

Required Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Journeyman with EPA Certification
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC principles and systems
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, testing, and resolving HVAC malfunctions
  • Ability to perform repairs on a variety of HVAC systems
  • Skilled at reading schematic diagrams
  • Comprehensive understanding of the refrigeration cycle and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
