Education: High School Diploma required. An Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a related field is preferred, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience. Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair is required. Some electronic experience is a plus but not mandatory. Previous crane experience is beneficial but not essential. Other Requirements: A valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary. Must be willing to work at heights and be available for varied overtime as required by customers. Ability to be on-call as part of the service office rotation and travel for out-of-town work is also required. Must be capable of frequently lifting up to 25 lbs, lifting up to 50 lbs daily, and occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs.

Our service technicians are the backbone of our operations, excelling in a safety-oriented environment. In this role, you will troubleshoot 480 3-phase motors, resolve crane-related issues, and work closely with clients and facility managers to fulfill service requirements across the nation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at client locations.
  • Provide on-call service as part of a rotation, including after-hours support.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic issues on-site.
  • Conduct post-repair audits to ensure safety features are operational.
  • Document findings and suggest corrective actions, including safety notifications to clients.
  • Consult with clients on repair and safety issues, offering recommendations for material handling enhancements.
  • Generate electronic documentation using company tools, obtaining client signatures.
  • Stay informed on industry standards and regulations (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI).
  • Accurately and promptly complete service reports and other necessary documentation.
  • Maintain communication with the Field Operations Manager and Service Coordinator, adhering to established protocols.
  • Ensure company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets are maintained in good working condition.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, reporting deficiencies to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to established safety guidelines, including client-specific protocols.
  • Engage in monthly safety meetings.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
