Role overview
The Insurance Product Analyst joins the Insurance Product team and works closely with product managers, actuarial specialists, underwriters, engineers, and compliance officers. This position sits at the intersection of product analytics, underwriting logic, state expansion, and operational execution. The analyst translates product strategies into clear analyses, documentation, and operational changes. Collaboration across Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Engineering ensures that decisions are data-driven, well-documented, and measured after launch. This hands-on role suits someone analytical, organized, and proactive, with an interest in startup environments.
What you will do
- Analyze product and segment performance using metrics such as business mix, bind ratio, loss ratio, underwriting funnel, retention, and segmentation.
- Create dashboards, reports, and management insights that connect business decisions to measurable results.
- Identify trends, issues, and opportunities to inform product, pricing, and underwriting strategies.
- Recommend product modifications, including risk selection and operational improvements in underwriting.
- Document reporting logic, definitions, and data sources in a clear and organized manner.
Support product implementation
- Work with cross-functional teams to carry out product initiatives smoothly.
- Track and assess the impact of changes, recommending further improvements based on data findings.
