Position Overview:
As the Integrated Vetting / Personnel Security Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be at the forefront of developing, revising, and coordinating critical policies related to personnel vetting processes, including background investigations and ongoing evaluations under the Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines. Your role will involve creating up to 40 policy memoranda annually, along with staffing packets and briefing materials, ensuring clarity and compliance with DoD standards.
- Lead the creation, maintenance, and updating of policy memoranda and DoD issuances, ensuring all documentation is grammatically sound and requires minimal editing.
- Support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing personnel security processes and oversee the evaluation of personnel vetting IT systems.
- Plan and execute personnel vetting projects effectively, including participation in DoD working groups focused on various security initiatives.
- Manage logistical and administrative tasks related to engagements, including the development of read-ahead packages that meet DoD correspondence standards.
- Facilitate staff actions and communicate complex topics clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- Propose policy changes through reports or presentations to leadership.
