KHOU-TV is seeking an IT/Broadcast Technician to enhance our talented team. This pivotal role ensures our broadcast operations run efficiently. You will support both IT and broadcast systems, maintaining our equipment and network operations to deliver exceptional content to our viewers. This is an ideal position for someone with a solid background in IT systems, hardware, and broadcast technology looking to make an impact in the media landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize IT systems, servers, networks, and broadcast equipment for uninterrupted operations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot broadcast systems to ensure superior audio and video quality, resolving any issues swiftly during live or recorded broadcasts.
  • Assist in managing content workflows including ingestion, storage, and retrieval of data on broadcast servers and cloud systems, with a strong focus on data integrity.
  • Install and configure broadcast equipment, including cameras, servers, routers, switches, encoders, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with the digital streaming team to facilitate seamless hardware and software operations.
  • Quickly address technical issues to minimize downtime during broadcasts.
  • Work collaboratively with production, technical teams, and other departments to enhance broadcast operations and tackle technical challenges.
  • Undertake additional duties to optimize our broadcast and IT infrastructure as necessary.
