Role overview
The IT Manager - Security & Operations will establish and manage corporate IT and security operations at Northwood Space. This position shapes the company’s security measures as the organization grows and reports directly to the Head of Security. The role combines hands-on DevSecOps work, security and compliance strategy, and automation projects to strengthen detection and response capabilities.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily IT and helpdesk operations, implementing a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system, and ensuring smooth processes for endpoint management, identity and access control, onboarding, and helpdesk support. The IT Manager will supervise an IT operations engineer and, as the team expands, help recruit additional security engineers and IT operations staff.
What you will do
Corporate IT & Helpdesk
- Manage all aspects of corporate IT, including identity management (Okta), device management (Intune, Jamf, FleetDM), endpoint security, SaaS administration, and helpdesk operations.
- Provide IT support for onboarding, desk and A/V setups, and asset management. Develop automation to streamline manual tasks over time.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code for IT systems and build self-service tools and integrations to improve operational efficiency as the company scales.
SIEM & Security Operations
- Select and deploy the company’s SIEM platform, enable log ingestion from ground stations and cloud infrastructure, and set up correlation rules with automated alerting.
- Collaborate with product infrastructure engineers to ensure correct system implementation.
- Develop Security Operations Center (SOC) capabilities, including detection and response playbooks, incident response processes, and continuous monitoring.
