Position Overview:
The Team Leader is responsible for facilitating departmental work activities to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and processes. The Team Leader plays a critical role in achieving safety, quality, and productivity standards by:
- Providing first-line support to team members during abnormal conditions
- Escalating issues to involve the appropriate resources when necessary
- Ensuring seamless operations by stepping in for team members during absenteeism and breaks
- Participating in continuous improvement projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising personnel involved in loading and unloading trucks, verifying counts, and inspecting for damaged packaging
- Ensuring safe equipment operation by team members
- Training team members on various processes and job tasks within their designated work zone
- Certifying team members on individual workstations to meet skill progression requirements
- Tracking and communicating the status of inbound/outbound truck schedules
- Maintaining constant communication with supervisors and forklift operators
- Verifying EDI requirements and managing load setups
- Leading and assisting shipping personnel as necessary
- Conducting spot checks on the labeling of staged containers throughout the day
