About the Role:
As the Accounting Manager at Naked Wines, you will be an essential part of our global finance team, focusing on the integrity and accuracy of the US general ledger. Reporting to the Finance Director – Global Operations, you will be the primary resource for US accounting matters and support our Senior Accountant. This hybrid role is based in our Sonoma, CA office, with potential relocation options if necessary.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting inventory and tax balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and rectifying any discrepancies.
- Annually reviewing and updating standard costing for inventory, ensuring proper application throughout the costing process.
- Facilitating successful internal and external audits, managing all inventory-related requests.
- Generating timely and precise monthly financial reports.
- Overseeing senior accountants, ensuring accurate and timely completion of their work while providing coaching and training as needed.
- Reviewing and approving sales, excise, income, corporate, and other tax filings.
- Evaluating bi-weekly US payroll reports and preparing corresponding journal entries.
- Assisting in the discovery, process improvement, and implementation of a new Inventory Management System ERP planned for 2027.
- Addressing general accounting inquiries and providing guidance as the go-to accounting resource in the US.
- Contributing to broader project work as required.
- Upholding the company’s mission, vision, and values.
- Performing other tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff within the department.
- Managing the daily workflow of the department.
- Providing constructive and timely performance evaluations and feedback.
- Handling employee disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policy.
