Join our creative team as an Acrylic, Watercolor, and Drawing Instructor at Michaels in St. Albert, Canada. We are seeking passionate artists who are eager to share their skills and inspire others through art classes.
This part-time, permanent position is ideal for artists who want to teach but lack a personal studio space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the ability to create realistic paintings and drawings.
- Effectively teach acrylic painting, watercolor, and drawing classes to students of all levels.
- Actively promote your classes and cultivate your own student base.
Compensation:
As an instructor, you will earn an hourly rate plus incentives based on student attendance:
- For FREE Basics: MAKE A Project Classes, receive an hourly rate plus $3 for each student.
- For Advanced Classes in Acrylic Painting, Watercolor, and Drawing:
- Hourly rate plus $7 per student for classes with 6 students or fewer.
- Hourly rate plus $10 per student for classes with 7 students or more.
All class scheduling will be coordinated between you and the Michaels store management. Classes are typically two hours long, with the goal for each student to complete a finished painting or drawing.
Certification Requirement:
All instructors must obtain certification through Grumbacher to teach at Michaels.
