Columbia University seeks experienced analytics professionals to join as part-time Associate Faculty for a graduate-level course in Applied Generative AI. This role, which is junior to a Lecturer, involves providing expert insights and supporting the instructional process for a specific course section. The Applied Generative AI course introduces students to generative modeling, a key area of machine learning, emphasizing foundational concepts, theoretical techniques, and real-world applications. Participants will gain skills in utilizing, fine-tuning, and programmatically interacting with high-level APIs and open-source foundational models, enabling them to harness cutting-edge tools in Generative AI. Furthermore, the course covers the theory and practice of low-level implementations, allowing students to train their own models on proprietary data and comprehend these models from first principles. The curriculum encompasses various generative models, including Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), and Transformers, along with their applications in text, image, audio, and video generation.
Key Responsibilities
Attend all class sessions, support instruction, lead breakout discussions, and facilitate student engagement.
Assess and grade student submissions and evaluations as directed by the course Lecturer.
Monitor and respond to student inquiries and concerns.
