GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Adjunct Mathematics Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality education in Mathematics, requiring a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the subject.
This role currently necessitates on-site instruction.
Compensation for this position ranges from $877 to $954 per credit hour, depending on academic qualifications.

The Adjunct Faculty member will teach college-level courses as outlined by North Central Michigan College and assigned by the respective departmental dean, employing active learning strategies to help students achieve course objectives. Adjunct faculty members are engaged on a semester-by-semester basis as per the College's needs, with no obligation to teach in subsequent semesters.
Adjunct Faculty members are subject to evaluations from students and the college administration and are expected to participate in the college's outcomes assessment initiatives. They are also required to maintain professionalism in their interactions with students, fellow faculty, and administrative staff.
DUTIES:
- Utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS), currently Brightspace, for posting course syllabi and student grades.
- Develops and shares a syllabus for each course in accordance with master syllabi.
- Ensures syllabi are accessible to all enrolled students and the Department Dean as required each semester.
- Adheres to textbook ordering procedures and promptly responds to textbook information requests.
- If teaching remotely or in a hybrid format, complies with accreditation standards and receives approval to employ remote instructional methods.
- Engages in Outcomes Assessment Activities.
- Submits final course grades by established deadlines at the end of each semester.
- Communicates with students, faculty, and staff via the ncmich.edu email account, checking email frequently and responding promptly.
- Holds office hours for student consultations.
- Facilitates individual student development and coordinates with Student Services as necessary to promote student success.
- Maintains course records per standard college procedures and for course assessment.
- Communicates with students both verbally and in writing in accordance with FERPA regulations.
- Follows all college policies and procedures.
