International Health and Medical Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider to provide exceptional medical care, encompassing assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for a diverse range of health issues. This role entails collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care, advocate for patients, and comply with regulatory standards within the facility.
- Comply with the Advanced Practice Provider Collaborative Practice and Prescriptive Authority Agreement.
- Collaborate within an integrated healthcare team to deliver acute, emergent, and chronic care to patients, adhering to policies, guidance, and accreditation standards.
- Conduct comprehensive history and physical evaluations, provide behavioral health care, and perform minor outpatient surgical procedures for detainees as dictated by medical necessity.
- Apply clinical knowledge effectively within documented treatment plans, manage prescriptions, and deliver treatment across the lifespan as applicable to the discipline and facility setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in lab diagnostic ordering and interpretation, medication prescribing practices, and referrals to specialists, ensuring follow-up after hospitalization or consultation.
- Engage in and comply with court-ordered treatment plans, including evaluation and treatment of patients with psychiatric disorders or critical conditions such as hunger strikes.
- Offer a full spectrum of age and gender-specific healthcare, including treatment for gender dysphoria and pregnancy.
- Consult with the staff physician, clinical director, and other specialists as needed for complex medical and/or psychiatric cases.
- Manage infirmary care through admissions, discharges, and daily rounds for patients requiring higher levels of care and monitoring.
- Coordinate patients' healthcare needs, including referrals to external consultants.
- Interpret Tuberculin skin tests and diagnostic studies, oversee Direct Observation Therapy for active or latent tuberculosis treatment.
- Implement appropriate infection control measures in alignment with IHSC policies and guidelines.
- Maintain universal precautions and ensure proper disposal of sharps and infectious waste.
- Deliver pertinent health education to detainees verbally and/or through informational handouts.
- Assist in accreditation preparation and ongoing compliance with established standards as assigned.
- Participate in all necessary credentialing and peer review processes as required.
- Support and mentor new Advanced Practice Providers during their onboarding and training process.
- Demonstrate productivity levels that meet or exceed average Advanced Practice Provider benchmarks at the assigned facility.
- Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to sudden changes in patient care needs.
