Your Role and Contributions
As an Advanced Solar Field Service Technician specializing in Utility-Scale / PV Repair, you will engage directly with large, utility-scale solar farms. This position focuses on the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of ground-mounted solar systems, central/string inverters, and power plant equipment. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that work is conducted with the utmost safety, accuracy, and punctuality. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals with substantial experience on megawatt-scale utility solar sites.
Please note: This is a 100% travel role.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits.
- Conduct testing procedures: LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans.
- Manage work assignments, monitor project progress, and maintain schedules.
- Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks on utility-scale solar plants.
- Inspect completed work for compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Implement safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E) on-site.
- Identify and resolve system issues in field environments.
- Complete work orders, service logs, and necessary documentation.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and tools.
- Provide training and support to junior technicians in field operations.
