About the job
PicnicHealth is revolutionizing clinical research with cutting-edge AI technology, streamlining the process to make it more efficient and cost-effective for bringing new treatments to patients. Our patient-focused, AI-driven approach is transforming a $100 billion industry typically led by traditional, service-oriented companies. We are building an innovative operating system for clinical studies that leverages our AI to manage medical record data during trials, coupled with a personal health assistant that keeps patients actively involved.
The Opportunity
The landscape of clinical research is primed for transformation. Conducting a study today is often bogged down by numerous labor-intensive processes that can be slow, costly, and frustrating for all parties involved. We firmly believe that AI has the potential to change this paradigm.
Our AI team is dedicated to developing impactful systems. We handle millions of pages of medical records, converting disorganized real-world data into structured patient timelines. We automate intricate study workflows—from protocol establishment to ongoing operations. Our aim is not merely to enhance efficiency; we seek to significantly minimize the human effort required to conduct research.
This role offers significant leverage. You will collaborate closely with product managers and our study delivery team to identify high-value opportunities and take ownership of the AI solutions that will address these challenges. If you are passionate about applying state-of-the-art AI technologies to meaningful issues, this is the ideal environment for you.
As an AI Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing AI agents that automate labor-intensive tasks in clinical studies, such as creating clinical trial documentation.
- Enhancing and expanding our agent framework (built on pydantic-ai) along with the underlying infrastructure.
- Designing data pipelines that provide our agents with the necessary research and context.
- Working directly with study project managers, clinicians, and various stakeholders to comprehend challenges and deliver effective solutions.
- Taking initiative to ensure projects are completed, including performing UI tasks when necessary to eliminate roadblocks.
