About the job
Join Our Team as an AIOS Psychiatrist!
At GGZ Rivierduinen, we proudly offer a comprehensive training program for aspiring psychiatrists, featuring exciting elective placements to cultivate specialized expertise. If you are currently an ANIOS (Assistant Psychiatrist) with us and are passionate about advancing in your career, we encourage you to apply for a training position.
The training lasts 4.5 years, during which you will undertake various placements lasting between six months and a year. Our new training structure, effective from July 2020, emphasizes 'life-phase-oriented training' and achieving entrustable professional activities (EPAs). This means that within these 4.5 years, you will gain experience in adult psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry, each for at least six months. Your placements will provide the necessary support and content to help you achieve your EPAs, with ten professional activities that must be signed off by your trainers, such as assessing suicidal risk.
Your training schedule will be created in collaboration with your supervisor, who typically prefers to start your training in an inpatient setting, allowing you to join a supportive team, often in a high and intensive care clinic. This is usually followed by a placement in one of our outpatient clinics and the crisis service, along with opportunities for elective placements.
Throughout your training, you will acquire experience with various psychotherapy modalities, including insight-oriented psychotherapy, which is a key part of the program. Additionally, you will participate in 50 sessions of personal therapy with an external learning therapist.
Our Elective Placements Include:
- Eating disorders at Centrum Eetstoornissen Ursula (CEU) in Leiden;
- Intensive Care Clinic (KIZ) for treatment of therapy-resistant and complex patients (typically EPA patients) in Oegstgeest;
- Adult outpatient placements in Leiden, Voorhout, and Gouda, with specialization in areas such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), bipolar disorders, or personality disorders;
- Psychoeducation for psychiatric patients with intellectual disabilities at Centrum Kristal in Leiden and Leidschendam;
- Psychiatry for the deaf and hard of hearing at GGMD in Zoetermeer;
- FACT/Community team placements in Gouda, Leiden, or Voorhout;
- Neuropsychiatry placements (acquired brain injury) in Oegstgeest;
- Geriatric psychiatry placements, both inpatient and outpatient, in Leiden and Voorhout.
